Aloha Pono Kai owners and guests, 

We’re pleased to share that Pono Kai has had 100% power since September 14, 2026. Recovery efforts continue at the resort and throughout Kauai.

Our ongoing inspections have identified some individual AC units and internet/cable modems affected by the storm-related power surge. If your assigned unit is impacted, we may need to provide a comparable unit with working AC and/or service.

Some buildings are also currently without elevator service. We are working with the elevator service company to restore service as quickly as possible. Guests with mobility concerns are encouraged to contact Pohaku’s Reservations Team before arrival.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as our onsite team continues this important recovery work.  While Kapaa and the surrounding areas are recovering quickly, there remain areas of the island that are still inaccessible or closed. We’re grateful to see Pono Kai and Kauai moving forward and look forward to welcoming guests back as recovery continues.
